Walton is derived from Charlie Walton, who was born in California, died on November 30, 2011. As the inventor of RFID technology, he devoted his life to the development of RFID technology. He obtained the first patent related to RFID technology in 1973 and eventually obtained more than 50 invention patents. He created a new era of RFID and made outstanding contributions to the development of RFID. At present, RFID technology is widely used in various applications all over the world, from identification to freeway billing, mobile payment, credit card payment, we can see RFID everywhere. The project was founded on November 30, 2016, the fifth anniversary of the death of Charlie Walton. To commemorate the great inventor of RFID technology, the project was named “Waltonchain” to carry forward his invention and blaze a trail to the future.

Compared with traditional RFID tag chip, the RFID tag chip designed in the project has the following advantages:
1. A dissymmetric encryption and decryption module is integrated into the tag chip of this project, bringing out safer tag communication;
2.A dedicated storage space is integrated into the tag chip of this project for the storage of hash value of tag status and key information, which makes the tag content truly tamper-resistant;
3. The tag chip of this project adopts the low voltage and low power consumption design, and applies advanced technology; though with an increased size of design, its power consumption is lower than that of traditional design;
4.The anti-collision logic is added to the design scheme of the tag chip of this project. As a result, the collision probability is lower, and the probability of skipping – reading is significantly reduced.

1.The RFID tag has achieved the management of item level in the application of garment industry. Hence, the number of usage is enormous. Large amounts of experimental data can be obtained easily in the development and early application of the chip, as a result of which the chip and system technologies will mature quickly ;
2. Many core members of the team have years of industry experience in the field of garment, and they are also familiar with the garment industry, the application of RFID intelligent system, and the promotion of software informationization products and other areas. With abundant resources of customer channels, the upfront cost of customer development is low. Therefore, it is possible to enter the market rapidly and to build up customer base in early days.

The WALTON project adopts the scheme of the combination of hardware and software. While, other security traceability block chain projects have no hardware. Therefore,the scheme of the WALTON project is intrinsically different from that of other projects in that:
1. The memory of tag chip of this project contains the hash value of tag status and critical data, making sure that the tag content is tamper-resistant;
2. The tag and reader-writer, as well as the WALTONCHAIN platform, make sure truly anti-counterfeiting and traceable to the source on the whole;
3. From the commercial value point of view, the WALTONCHAIN uses the RFID system as its carrier, and the wide popularization of RFID system is an irreversible mega-trend; its tremendous commercial value is foreseeable as a growing number of merchants will adopt the RFID system in the future, and the number of users of WALTONCHAIN will be increasing continuously


The chip of Sigma project is mainly used as the miner, but not a major element for business application. But there are two kinds of chips in the WALTON project — RFID tag chip and reader – writer main control chip. RFID tag chip is the interface on the commodity side to upload the physical commodity to the chain. In other words, each commodity (such as the garment hangtag, care label and so on in the Phase 1.0 of this project) with a RFID tag chip in the future can upload relevant data to the chain through data exchange with the reader – writer, with no manual intervention needed. Reader – writer main control chip is the interface on the server side to upload the physical commodity to the chain. It may serve as the node of the main chain or child chain of WALTONCHAIN. As the number of merchants using the RFID system increases, there will be more and more nodes of WALTONCHAIN accordingly,and the robustness of the whole system will become better and better. As stated above, the chip of WALTON project is the vital element of the whole system, and closely related to the furfure business application..
